Who we are

Legalis AI ("Legalis", "we") provides an AI legal research and drafting platform on the web and in our Android and iOS apps. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have.

What we collect

• Account data: name, email address, password (stored only as a salted hash), job title, language preference and an optional profile photo.
• Your content: questions, chats, documents, drafts, matters and saved research you create. This content is encrypted at rest.
• Organization data: your organization name, team members and plan.
• Purchases: subscription status. Card payments are processed by Stripe, and in-app purchases by Google Play or the Apple App Store. We never see your full card details.
• Device data (apps): a push-notification token if you allow notifications, and whether you turned on the biometric app lock (your fingerprint or face data never leaves your device).
• Usage data: basic logs such as feature usage counts and security events. Your legal questions are never written to audit logs.

How we use it

• To provide the service: answering questions, drafting, research and team collaboration.
• To secure your account (sign-in, two-factor authentication, abuse prevention).
• To bill your subscription and send service emails such as password resets and alerts you chose.
• Marketing emails only with your consent, which you can withdraw any time in your profile.

AI processing

To answer you, the relevant parts of your request are sent to our AI model providers (such as OpenAI, Anthropic, Google and Perplexity) for processing. They act as our processors and may not use your content to train their models. Answers are AI-generated legal information, not legal advice.

Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with service providers that help us run Legalis (hosting, AI processing, email, payments) and when the law requires it.

Retention and deletion

We keep your data while your account is active. You can erase your content at any time (Profile → Delete all my data), or delete your whole account and its data. See how to delete your account.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR), you can access, correct, export or delete your personal data and object to certain processing. Contact us through the in-app assistant (Ask Lex) or by replying to any email from Legalis.

Children

Legalis is for professionals and businesses and is not directed at children under 16.
